Master’s Programme Summary
The ADRION Joint Transnational Master’s Programme in Renewable Energy is a comprehensive two-year (four semesters, 120 ECTS), full-time scientific and challenge-based Master’s programme, designed to distinguish itself from similar executive-type programmes. It brings together the specific expertise and specializations offered by the national Master’s programmes of the eight partner universities forming the consortium:
  • University of Patras, Department of Chemical Engineering
  • IUAV University of Venice, Department of Architecture and Arts
  • University of Zagreb, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing
  • Algebra Bernays University, Department of Computing
  • University of Novi Sad, Faculty of Technical Sciences
  • International University of Sarajevo, Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences
  • University of Tirana, Department of Industrial Chemistry
  • Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna, Department of Electrical, Electronic, and Information Engineering
The ADRION Joint Transnational Master’s Programme in Renewable Energy encourages students in the development and promotion of scientific thinking.
The programme reflects the significant interest in renewable energy topics across the Adriatic-Ionian region. It aims to actively engage and strengthen the capacities of various stakeholders, contributing to energy transition efforts and improving the work of businesses, academia, and civil society throughout the region. In this way, the project supports and promotes the energy transition through the development of a joint Master’s degree programme focused on renewable energy.
The programme is based on cooperation among six countries representing different parts of the Adriatic-Ionian area, including three EU countries — Greece, Italy, and Croatia — and three IPA countries — Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, and Albania.
More specifically, the ADRION Joint Transnational Master’s Programme in Renewable Energy is developed through the partnership of the following eight university partners: University of Patras, Department of Chemical Engineering (Greece); IUAV University of Venice, Department of Architecture and Arts (Italy); University of Zagreb, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (Croatia); Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna, Department of Electrical, Electronic, and Information Engineering (Italy); Algebra Bernays University, Department of Computing (Croatia); University of Novi Sad, Faculty of Technical Sciences (Serbia); International University of Sarajevo, Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences (Bosnia and Herzegovina); and University of Tirana, Department of Industrial Chemistry (Albania).
In addition, the programme has established a diverse network connecting academia, research, and business sectors. Its main strategy is based on a transdisciplinary approach, grounded in mutual learning and context-based knowledge. It also encourages mobility and combines the advantages of in-person teaching and online activities in order to maximize learning potential.
