Project Summary

The project is supported by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Youth, Canton Sarajevo. Technologies based on the principles of green chemistry and green entrepreneurship will be taught in the future, modernized programs, developed in collaboration with EU countries and project partners. The programs will include joint events planned in the second phase of the project, which will network experts from the consortium and provide an opportunity for promising students to exchange knowledge. Alongside improvements in understanding "green technologies," the project aims to promote the innovative potential in this area and encourage young people to seek self-employment in startups. In its primary phase, the project consortium will start activities through knowledge exchange between partners and by involving advanced students in expanding the materials industry in Serbia, Albania, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Support and recognition will come from policymakers such as ministries of science, mining, forestry, industry, as well as from chambers of commerce and development agencies in relevant countries. The project will contribute to the modernization of existing master's courses at partner institutions in the Western Balkans and support the development of high-quality university courses related to environmental issues by introducing the principles of "green" innovation.

Although pollution levels are concerning in the areas of water, land, forestry, and transportation in both recipient regions (the Western Balkans and Southeast Asia), it's not necessary to withdraw from their industrial development due to these problems. Preparing young professionals to balance accelerated industrial development, mining, or transportation with environmental protection is key to success. They will also be motivated to consider environmental issues and their innovative potential. There is always room for the introduction of new methods for water treatment, smoke treatment, and the development of products from secondary materials.
