In early drug research, testing compounds on cell lines often requires solvents due to poor solubility in water. Common solvents like DMSO, ethanol, and acetone can be toxic to cells, highlighting the need for safer alternatives. This project investigates the cytotoxic effects of various solvents, focusing on deep eutectic solvents (DES) as a potential solution. By optimizing DES formulations, we aim to enhance drug delivery methods and contribute to environmental preservation. The research will provide a better understanding of solvent cytotoxicity, improve DES formulations, and explore their application in drug delivery and cancer treatment. The expected outcome is to confirm the efficacy of DES solvents in experimental cancer cell models, paving the way for further research and potential cancer therapies.
