Business-oriented Education and Competences at The International University of Sarajevo as a right place for vocational on-the-job training in industry - BECIUS

The International University of Sarajevo (IUS) has been selected as one of five institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina to receive support from the Regional Challenge Fund (RCF) for a new skills development initiative. This project, designed in partnership with several local enterprises, focuses on strengthening the Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Electrical Engineering, and Software Engineering programs. It aims to equip students with practical skills aligned with labor market needs, enhancing both the educational experience and their future employability. Backed by international support from Germany and Switzerland, the RCF initiative seeks to improve youth employment prospects and business competitiveness across the Western Balkans. The project will invest in modernizing infrastructure and delivering cooperative training programs developed jointly with industry partners. Through this collaboration, IUS will offer students hands-on learning opportunities while also fostering closer ties between academia and industry to support sustainable economic development.
